Obama enlists LGBT YouTube celebrities for final health care enrollment push

With only weeks left to get the many underinsured LGBT people to sign up, the White House appealed to several high profile LGBT YouTube personalities to get the word out. Rise in LGBT violence worldwide

While Uganda’s anti-gay law created many waves last week and Lebanon’s courts ruled being gay is not a crime the U.S. State Department gave us the global health perspective in their annual report, unfortunately highlighting the trend in rising LGBT violence worldwide.

New Research on LGBT Youth Health

Researchers report that ⅓ of sexual minority youth engage in hazardous weight control behaviors as a result of body dissatisfaction. Luckily other researchers report an online queer sex education intervention helped boost self-acceptance.

“Adding Silver to the Rainbow”

Howard Brown Health Center released a new LGBT elder cultural competency training program this week. Complementing that, articles were also published on several other health issues, including: a blueprint for action on addressing elder needs, an exploration of transgender aging issues, and an analysis of needs of LGBT seniors of color.
