Lights Go on Part XXX -- Fresh Breath, Family and Change

So, what do I write about

when I haven't got time to brush my teeth?

Fresh breath?

I don't think so.

I'm flying back to NYC this afternoon after a whirlwind trip
to Los Angeles to see my two daughters and their children.

It's not often that Wendy, who is an Arabian horse trainer and lives in TX, comes west with her progeny to visit her sister Heather and her family, who live in Aliso Viejo, CA.

Couldn't miss that -- no matter how busy as we are in NYC.

So I'm working virtually.

I appreciate that our project team spans the continent,
from Vancouver BC to Los Angeles to Ohio to New York.

I love that we can get the job done and live (or visit)
exactly where we want.

But at the same time, this virtual world that allows us so many incredible possibilities,
is also changing SO fast.

So fast, in fact, that if we stop for too long,
we'll find ourself in reverse.

Then again,
we humans built this puppy and this pace,
didn't we?

So here's to the human race,
to continuing change from the
farthest reaches of the universe to our
seasonal lengths of daylight here on this planet.

Constant change --
threatens our ability
to strive for perfection.

I believe we are way better than we are not,
as the seeming "perfection" we strive for
only exists
in our imagination.

Personally, I celebrate change, even when,
as this trip indicates,
I'm stretched pretty thin.

So what do I do to keep my stress levels at a pleasant level
in this fast-paced, highly immediate world in which we live?

I tell the truth.

I ask myself what I want.

(In this case, the answer was, "I want peace.")

Then the question arose, "What are you going to do about it?"

My answer was and is, "Be aware,
enjoy seeing my loving family,
and prioritize according to how I feel."

I'm happy to report that that has happened,
and thanks to our team, we are getting the job done, too.

Pretty amazing, huh?

I love living today.

Right now.

We are surrounded by the old and the new.

I am grateful for all of it.

As my hero Æsop would say,
