Lil Wayne worried friends and fans when the rapper was hospitalized for seizures in Los Angeles two weeks ago. And though Weezy had already announced that he was on the mend ("I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love," he tweeted), he shed further light on his medical condition in an interview Thursday.

"The thing is, man, the bad news is, I'm an epileptic, I'm prone to seizures," he told Power 106's DJ Felli Fel. "This isn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I've had a bunch of seizures; y'all just never hear about them. This time it got real bad because I had three of 'em in a row, and on the third one, my heart rate went down to, like, 30 percent. Basically, I could've died. So, that's why it was so serious."

Previous reports had attributed Wayne's seizures to his consumption of "sizzurp," also known as "purple drank," a mixture of prescription-strength cough syrup, fruit-flavored soda and Jolly Ranchers. But the 30-year-old rapper says they were actually brought on by an overbooked schedule.

"The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest and overworking myself. That's just typical me, though," he added.

And what about those TMZ reports that was being given his last rites?

"Thats what they do," he said. "I can't be upset at that. I get upset at my kids when they do things that I tell 'em not to do; I can't get upset at TMZ for doing what they do," he said. "The truth isn't good enough for them, so they gotta twist everything up."

Mack Maine, president of Wayne's label Young Money, previously discussed Wayne's reaction to the rumors he was near death with MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway. "I was actually sitting right next to him, honestly, when it happened, and his mom was in the other room, and his face dropped," Maine said on March 20. "I just saw it in his face, like, 'I can't believe that.' "
