Lily Collins Is The New Snow White!

Lily Collins is the fairest of them all. Or, at least one of the fairest. confirmed The Hollywood Reporter's original story that the actress -- and daughter to singer Phil Collins -- has landed the coveted role of Snow White in Relativity Media's big screen retelling of the fairy tale, tentatively titled "The Brothers Grimm: Snow White."

"Yes!" Collins told HitFix. "I just got cast today!"

Collins joins a Tarsem Singh-directed cast that already includes Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen and "Social Network" star Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew; Hammer signed on earlier in the week.

Previously, Saoirse Ronan was rumored to be in the lead for the part of the princess.

Collins made her major big screen debut as Sandra Bullock's daughter in "The Blind Side," and is set to appear in a number of films over the next two years. She's co-starring with Taylor Lautner in the action thriller "Abduction," and is top lining the big screen adaptation of the YA novel "The Mortal Instruments." In perhaps the most famous big screen adaptation, Collins is currently filming a new retelling of "Romeo and Juliet."

Relativity is going head to head with Universal, which is planning its own darker reimagining of the fairy tale. Their film, "Snow White and the Huntsman" will feature Kristen Stewart as the titular princess, along with Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen.

Disney, too, is planning a Snow White live action film; theirs, "Snow and the Seven," would be set in 19th century China and potentially star Natalie Portman.
