UPDATE: Linda Perry has retracted her statement and deleted her previous tweets, in which she accuses Lady Gaga of not writing her Oscar nominated song "Til It Happes To You."

"My sincere apologies. I made a mistake to comment. I wasn't in the room when the #TIHTY was being written," she wrote on Monday. "More importantly, I wish the focus to remain on the great importance of the song and the message of the film."

UPDATE: Songwriter Diane Warren has responded to Linda Perry's accusations over Lady Gaga's involvement in writing "Til It Happens To You."

"The song is the result of a special collaboration between myself and Lady Gaga," she wrote on Twitter. "As Lady Gaga and I have consistly said. Til it Happens To you was inspired by the countless survivors of abuse who need our support and love so they know they're not alone."

PREVIOUSLY: We're dubbing this one #GagaGate.

4 Non Blondes rocker Linda Perry, who unsuccessfully campaigned for her song "Hands of Love" from the movie "Freeheld" to be recognized come awards season, doesn't believe Lady Gaga deserves her Oscar nomination for "Til It Happens To You."

Instead, Perry claims that another artist was originally going to sing the ballad featured in "The Hunting Ground," a powerful exposé about rape on college campuses across the country.

In her Twitter essay, Perry says that Gaga could have only rewritten one line in the song because she has heard the original version written solely by Diane Warren, and is therefore undeserving of the recognition.

However, she does reiterate her love for the recent Golden Globe winner and calls her a "very smart businesswoman."

Looks like we can officially remove Linda Perry from Lady Gaga’s EGOT supporters list.
