We are always genuinely surprised when Lindsay Lohan appears to be keeping up with current events, and Katie Couric's interview with bullied high school sophomore Whitney Kropp seems to have hit a nerve with the perpetually troubled actress.
Lohan was so moved by Kropp's story of overcoming a cruel prank orchestrated by classmates to vote her into the school's homecoming court as a joke, that the 26-year-old actress turned to Twitter to recount her own experiences with high school bullies.
"@katiecouric I think what you did today on your show for #WhitneyKropp was lovely. It had me crying. I'd love to meet her. #stopbullying," Lohan wrote on her Twitter account on Tuesday.

Sticks and stones may break your bones, but names will never hurt you -- unless you are being called a liar. Lohan's painful walk down memory lane comes just days after the actress alleged that former Republican congressional aide Christian Labella physically assaulted her in her New York City hotel room. Charges against Labella were dropped after police were unable to verify Lohan's claims.
Despite her own current personal woes, Lohan joins a growing number of celebrities who have spoken out about their experiences being bullied, including Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Michelle Trachtenberg and Khloe Kardashian.
