Did Los Angeles prosecutors just make a deal with the devil?
Moments after being glitter-bombed on her way into Los Angeles Superior Court, Lindsay Lohan struck an unexpected plea deal at what was expected to be the start of her latest trial.
Rather than taking a chance on the possibility of being sentenced to eight months in jail, Lohan pleaded no contest to charges of reckless driving and lying to the police.
As part of the deal, Lohan must complete 90 days in a locked rehab facility, perform 30 days of community labor and undergo psychotherapy for 18 months, reports TMZ.
In addition to having to stay clear of all drugs, and submit to drug testing, Lohan was also sentenced to five days in jail for reckless driving, but it will be folded into her stay in rehab, meaning she'll avoid jail time once again.
This new round of court-mandated rehab will mark the sixth time Lohan has tried to get clean. Lohan has been in and out of court and jail since she was convicted of DUI in 2007, and according to BuzzFeed, the 26-year-old has now spent more than 86 percent of her adult life either on probation, in rehab or out on bail.
Now, only time will tell if the sixth stint in rehab will help set Lohan on the right path.
