Lindsay Lohan's Lawyer Incompetent? Judge Refuses To Delay Actress's Trial, Berates Her Attorney

Judge Rips Into LiLo's Lawyer

The Lindsay Lohan saga continues, and this time it's her lawyer, Mark Heller, who's on the line.

Heller returned to court today for a hearing in LiLo's latest criminal case, which stems from a car crash she was involved in last summer (Lohan herself wasn't in court and was not required to be).

According to TMZ, judge James Dabney chided Heller and said he was "incompetent to practice law in California" and added that Lindsay either has to get another lawyer who knows what he's doing, or she has to come into court and waive her right to a competent California lawyer.

Judge Dabney also refused to delay Lohan's trial and stated that there's "no good reason to delay the case set for March 18," reports the AP.

The reason for the judge's harsh words? Earlier this week, Heller filed a motion to dismiss the actress's case on grounds that she wasn't read her Miranda rights. Apparently, Heller wasn't following California law when he filed the legal documents and the judge ripped into him for screwing up, reports TMZ.

The case in question has to do with three misdemeanor charges to which Lohan plead not guilty in January: Lying to police, reckless driving and obstructing police from performing their duties -- all of them relating to a car crash that took place in June 2012.
