Lindsey Vonn Adopts Homeless Dog Who Has A Bad Knee Too

Lindsey Vonn's New Buddy Has A Bad Knee Too!

Sometimes when life hands you lemons, it's just time to get a puppy.

Just one day after Lindsey Vonn announced that she would have to forgo the Sochi Olympics because of her knee injury, the skier revealed that she found a new buddy to sit out the games with her.

On her Facebook page Wednesday Vonn said she adopted a 9-month-old brindle boxer mix that she named Leo, saying he has a bad knee too:

This definitely brightened my day-I adopted this 9 month old cutie from an animal shelter. He has a bad knee from being hit by a car when he was a puppy and no one wanted him...but I do!! I encourage anyone looking for an animal to adopt from a shelter and save a life! #bumkneebuddies

Vonn tweeted this photo of her new "best friend":

During a crash at the World Championships last February, Vonn tore two ligaments in her right knee and then re-tore her ACL in a November training session before suffering an MCL sprain in a race in France last month.

Vonn says that she'll be undergoing surgery soon to get ready for the World Championships in Vail next February.

"On a positive note, this means there will be an additional spot so that one of my teammates can go for gold. Thank you all so much for all of the love and support," Vonn said. "I will be cheering for all of the Olympians and especially team USA!"
