My bumpy career as a writer leads me to the conclusion that three "L" words make life worth living:

Linguine, literature and laughter.

In this video you'll see how to make a good cheap red sauce for linguine, while hearing crazy stories about literature -- specifically my five novels, and the Hollywood heartbreaks they've triggered.

Frank Sinatra, John Travolta, Denzel Washington, Alec Baldwin, Samuel L. Jackson... these are just a few of the big names that were kicked around for starring roles in movies based on my books - movies that have yet to happen.

But I'm not complaining, because over time, even failure is funny -- and laughter is the most important "L" word of all.

Just don't scorch the garlic, and everything will work out fine.
