Lisa Kudrow and Matthew Perry have been reuniting quite a bit lately. First, the former "Friends" appeared on the premiere episode of NBC's "Hollywood Game Night" and this weekend, Perry sat in for Piers Morgan on CNN, where he interviewed his longtime co-star.
Perry (Chandler Bing) and Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay) reminisced about making each other laugh on the "Friends" set and their favorite scenes from the show. They were having so much fun, it got Perry wondering (again) why "Friends" ever ended in the first place.
"I find myself sort of reminiscing about how much fun ['Friends'] was, the hours that we worked, and you know, you can see how much we laughed and everything and I find myself saying, 'If I had a time machine, I would like to go back to 2004 and not have stopped,'" Perry said during the interview (above), echoing the sentiments he shared with The Hollywood Reporter in June. "I guess the ideology was that we would decide because that would be better. But I disagree -- looking back, 'No, don't make us decide. Let's keep going.' It's the greatest job in the world."
"Yeah, no ... If it was up to us ... I would keep going," Kudrow agreed. "I figure there probably would've come a time anyway when someone would've said, 'We've had enough,' but why not have fun until they do?"
Perry continued, "I think just in that meeting where we all said, 'Let's stop,' I probably would've said, 'Hey, let's not stop!'"
"Yeah, me too," Kudrow added.
Though the actress -- who's the creator, writer and star of the online series "Web Therapy" as well as the producer of reality program "Who Do You Think You Are?" -- wishes "Friends" didn't end when it did after 10 seasons on May 6, 2004, she doesn't have much of a desire to revisit Phoebe and co. these days. "I wouldn't even have an interest in seeing what those people are doing 10 years later as parents that have to be responsible," Kudrow said on HuffPost Live earlier this month. "It would be so different that it wouldn't be 'Friends' anymore. Have I talked anybody out of wanting a reunion?"
However, if everybody was down to do a reunion, Kudrow would be there. "Of course I would do it if everyone wanted to do it. And everyone isn't the six of us -- it's David Crane and Marta Kaufman, who created the show."
"Friends" fans have been itching for a reunion or movie since the show ended and recently, they got a little bit of what they wanted. When Jennifer Aniston co-hosted the "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in May, the "Friends" alumna stopped by Perry's place for some advice and found out he was sleeping with Courteney Cox as well as the talk show host and her wife Portia de Rossi in a video skit.
It might not have been exactly what "Friends" fans hoped for in April, when rumors of a Thanksgiving 2014 gathering had fans of the NBC sitcom in a frenzy, but the sketch certainly made waves on the Internet.
During Aniston's time on "Ellen," the host and her wife Portia de Rossi, who was a guest, asked if she would do a proper "Friends" reunion. The actress admitted, "Doing that little bit with Matty and Court, we all were very nostalgic and miss working together and love each other ... It's a great thing to get to go back to your family like that and also know that people will love it and enjoy it."
Shortly thereafter, however, Perry was asked about a "Friends" movie or reunion on "Good Morning America" and he had this to say: "It would be terrible to do something and have it not be good ... It was so terrific ... If we did a ['Friends'] movie and it sucked, then it would, you know, blemish it.”
