Lisset Llauro, Florida Mother, Accused Of DUI While In School's Student Pickup Line (VIDEO)

Cops: Mom Was Driving Drunk When Picking Up Kids From School

Authorities have arrested a woman who they say was driving impaired and nearly hit another vehicle while in a student pickup line at a Miramar elementary school.

According to a police report, an officer stopped Lisset Llauro, 39, of Pembroke Pines, in her 2010 Mercedes-Benz shortly before 2:40 p.m. Monday after observing her run over plastic lane markers in the pickup line outside Silver Lakes Elementary School at 2300 SW 173rd Ave.

When the officer approached Llauro, she seemed slightly disoriented, had slurred speech and told police she didn't know why she had driven over the lane markers, authorities said.

She told the officer that she had not had anything to drink and wasn't on medication. But the police report said Llauro needed to grab onto the car door to keep her balance when she stepped out of her vehicle.

After conducting sobriety tests, the officer found that Llauro was unsteady on her feet, swayed while standing on one leg and couldn't touch the tip of her nose, police said.

While Llauro was in the back of the police car, "the odor of an alcoholic beverage was clearly evident emanating from her person," the report said.

She declined to offer a breath or urine sample, it said. She was taken into custody on the charge of driving under the influence, records show.

During her first-appearance court hearing on Tuesday, Broward County Judge John "Jay" Hurley ordered that Llauro be released from jail without having to post a bond.

"It looks like you're picking up your kids while you're impaired by something and that's very concerning," Hurley said.

The judge said that he would have the state's Department of Children & Families contacted to check on Llauro's children. She told Hurley that she has three kids, ages 14, 12 and 6.

Hurley also ordered that Llauro be subjected to random alcohol and drug testing.
