On August 22, 2012, shortly after 1 a.m., an unarmed intruder broke into LL Cool J's home. According to police reports, he entered through the family room while LL, his wife and two of his daughters were asleep upstairs. On "Oprah's Next Chapter," the actor and multiplatinum recording artist tells Oprah why he thanks God he was home that night.

"What was on my mind was what could have happened if I wasn't home," LL says in this clip. "It wasn't one of those beat-your-chest moments. It was one of those grateful, thank God, gratitude moments that I was able to handle this situation, subdue this guy, wait for the police, get him out of here and everybody was safe. You know, because if I wasn't here... house full of women, there's no telling what could have happened. He had bad intentions."
