Local Natives: "The Youth Is Much More Open Minded"

After purging some of their personal demons on the more introspective album Hummingbird, L.A. based indie rock band Local Natives has shifted their gaze towards the world around them on their third record Sunlit Youth. Drawing from political and social issues, including the controversial presidential election race in the U.S., the band emphasizes the importance of the younger generations as the world moves forward. "If you look at the demographics the youth is falling along, they're much more open minded, more connected and unified. It's not the fear, divisiveness, and hate rhetoric that it feels like is coming from the other side."
