Loki On 'Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.'? Tom Hiddleston Is Game

Could Loki Cause Problems On 'Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.'?

Loki could appear on "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," according to Tom Hiddleston.

When asked about his "Thor" and "Avengers" character popping up on Joss Whedon's new ABC series following Agent Couslon (Clark Gregg), Hiddleston said it could happen.

"It would be something that would depend upon script and story but yeah, of course," Hiddleston told Crave Online. The actor said he spoke to Whedon about the project at Comic-Con in July. "I saw him down in San Diego. I hear it’s good fun," he said.

But here's one place Hiddleston will definitely not be: The actor confirmed he will be in the "Avengers" sequel.

Whedon, who directed the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." pilot, already tapped "Avengers" and "How I Met Your Mother Star" Cobie Smulders for the debut episode. She could return for more "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." if it works with her schedule for the final season of "How I Met Your Mother."

"I'm up for it, it's just a matter of the direction that they decide to go with the show," she told The Hollywood Reporter. "I don't know how much they'll be at the Command Center and how much they need me around. If it works out organically with the story line, then I'd be happy to come in but I truly don't know."

Could others follow suit? Whedon has said in the past that it's important the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." series stand on its own and not depend on "Avengers" movie stars, but if the idea works for the series and the stars, he's not above asking. "I'm not going to go begging and I'm not going to use up favors I need for 'Avengers 2.' The DNA of the show is the show. Those guys would be a delightful bonus but we're not building our arcs around them and we'll see what happens," he said.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." premieres Tuesday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
