Long live democracy! This attempt on democracy will fail as well

I had gone to Diyarbakır to observe the operations against the PKK which I had been studying for a long time and to write about my experience here. It was an article praising the Turkish Army and the police, there was also a nice interview with the governor of Diyarbakır Hüseyin Aksoy.

I had gone to Diyarbakır to observe the operations against the PKK which I had been studying for a long time and to write about my experience here. It was an article praising the Turkish Army and the police, there was also a nice interview with the governor of Diyarbakır Hüseyin Aksoy. The article was done and was to be published tomorrow.

Also, the Boxer magazine which we have been preparing for launch for many months and of which I am the editor-in-chief was to be launched this week. It wouldn't be wrong to say that I had meetings with the columnists every single day ahead of me.

But why will I not be able to do that? What happened? There was a coup attempt in Turkey, tanks in the streets, soldiers storming government offices, a curfew was imposed.

And even as I write this, the Turkish Parliament is being bombed.

I don't know if this is the Arab Spring spreading to Turkey but I think the Gülen movement has something to do with this. Let me put this briefly, the Turkish nation shall not be fooled by games like this. The whole nation already stands united from the east to the west. Turks will overcome this.

Lastly, a universal motto: Long live democracy!
