Now that the votes are counted and the post-election celebrations are winding down, are you waiting for a phone call from the hiring office of the President-elect?

Wait no more.

The thousands of people appointed throughout the Executive Branch set policies in everything from regulation of genetically modified plants and animals to the design of prisons, from sex education to foreign aid. You can be part of that.

YES! magazine board member Dal LaMagna believes these positions are so important that he created a website, Executive Branch Online, to make the process transparent and accessible to everyone.

After you've identified the job that's right for you, go to the Office of the President-Elect home page and fill out an application.

Maybe you don't want to work in government, but you do have something to say. The President-Elect website invites you to write in with your stories from the election and your vision for the future:

Start right now. Share your vision for what America can be, where President-Elect Obama should lead this country. Where should we start together?

Thanks for asking, Mr. President-Elect.
