Lord Frederick Windsor, Sophie Winkleman Welcome Baby Girl

Hooray! Another British Royal Baby Has Been Born

Another simcha for the British royal family! On the heels of the birth of Prince George, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent have issued a statement announcing the birth of their first grandchild.

The parents, Lord Frederick Windsor and Sophie Winkleman, welcomed a baby girl yesterday at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, where the couple is based. She weighed 7 pounds and was given the name Maud Elizabeth Daphne Marina. We're sure Georgie and Maud will be the best of friends.

Unlike her future monarch relative, Maud is 42nd in line to the throne. Plus, her parents lead a much less "royal" lifestyle, as her mom Sophie Winkleman is a working actress in Hollywood (you've probably seen her on "Two And A Half Men") and her dad is a financial analyst. Winkleman married Lord Windsor, son of Prince Michael of Kent (who's a first cousin to the Queen), in 2009.

"Prince and Princess Michael of Kent's family and Sophie's family have been informed and are delighted with the news," the statement announcing Maud's birth read. Clearly, we're pretty excited, too. Now we just have a few more months until Zara Phillips' little one arrives...

Say hello to the family, Maud!
