With a career spanning three decades, Brooklyn-bred actress Lorraine Toussaint has recently gained a new following -- thanks in large part to her role as jailhouse Jezebel Yvonne "Vee" Parker on the hit Netflix series 'Orange Is The New Black.'

A proud Trinidadian single mom, Toussaint is having a career renaissance; also currently starring on the ABC series 'Forever' and in the Oprah Winfrey-produced civil rights drama 'Selma.' During a recent interview for the January edition of Uptown Magazine, Toussaint opens up to Karu F. Daniels about her alleged marriage, career upsets, passions and advice for her young 'Orange' co-stars.
