Lou Dobbs Eyes TV Return, Not Politics: NYPost

Lou Dobbs has talked about political ambitions, but the New York Post reports it's a TV return he's eyeing most of all.

"The defiant anchorman who abruptly quit CNN late last year, has decided to stay on TV -- and out of politics, sources say," the Post reported Thursday.

In November, Dobbs told Bill O'Reilly he could guarantee that he will stay in the "public arena" — but declined to say anything further.

Since then, Dobbs has publicly toyed with the idea of running for political office, with speculation centering around a New Jersey senate seat or, yes, even the presidency in 2012.

But the Post reports that, were he to run for senate, "he would have had to begin putting together a campaign this month."

Both Dobbs and CNBC denied a report that he was in talks with the financial news network for a role there, but he did say he would be interested in working at Fox, telling Don Imus he would "certainly" consider it if offered a job there.
