Before he began railing against the Muslim Brotherhood and his "numbnuts" colleagues on Capitol Hill, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) served as a district judge for Texas' Smith County, where he once deployed an unusual tactic to get a defendant to be quiet in his courtroom.
"I don't know the judge that's trying this case down in Fort Hood," Gohmert said. "I had one guy that was particularly out of line, and I warned him three times, and then we duct taped his head, and we didn't hear from him until it was his turn to talk."
He continued, "You just gave him three warnings, and then wrapped him up."
