Louis CK Just Bought This Great Old Shelter Island, NY Cottage -- But There's A Rumor About It That's Untrue

Louis CK Just Bought This Delightful Old Cottage -- But There's One Rumor About It That's Untrue

It looks like the rumors are true: Louis CK just bought the 113-year-old Primrose Cottage on Shelter Island, New York for $2.44 million. (The New York Post originally reported the rumor, with Move.com confirming the sale.) Though it's a grand old place -- the Tudor-style home has six bedrooms, four bathrooms and its own pier -- it's a decidedly understated home as far as celebrity estates go. The property sits on a quiet peninsula and boasts original details that date back to 1901.

Although many outlets reported that Babe Ruth once owned Primrose Cottage, that particular rumor isn't true. Babe Ruth once visited Primrose Cottage as a guest of Queens congressman James Roe, then spent the night at nearby home (which also sat on Westmoreland Farm, the parcel of land on which Primrose Cottage is located).

Take a look at the property below and tell us what you think.
