The Louis Majesty (formerly known as the Royal Majesty and the Norwegian Majesty) is a popular floating resort. The waters are crowded with sea-worthy vessels, so to make planning easier, we've done all the prep work for a cruise vacation. makes regular three- and four-night voyages from Piraeus (the port of Athens, Greece) to the Greek Islands. Ports of call include Mykonos, Santorini, Patmos, Crete and Kusadasi (the gateway to the ancient city of Ephesus) on the west coast of Turkey.
Passenger Ship
The 679-foot
has 10 passenger decks and 732 staterooms that can accommodate up to 1,800 passengers. The ship has a casual elegance but is a little more formal than many of the ships that sail among the Greek Islands.
Special Features
Facilities on the
include a casino, an Internet cafe, a game room, two lounges, a piano bar, a disco, a video arcade and a fitness center. Outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of the ship's swimming pool, two hot tubs and kid's pool area.
Accommodations
The
staterooms range from inside cabins to junior suites. There are also separate sitting areas and large bay windows. All cabins have private baths, air conditioning and satellite television. Some staterooms have hair dryers and/or small refrigerators.
Cost
Four-day, three-night voyages aboard the Louis Majesty, like the
, start at $479.50 per person, based on two people sharing a stateroom. Port taxes and airfare are additional costs.
Excursions
One passenger found visiting
a worthwhile excursion. According to this passenger, "The monastery at Paphos was very interesting and provides incredible views of the town below and adjacent islands."
Dining Experience
There are
on the Louis Majesty. Passengers are assigned one of two dinner seatings for the duration of the cruise. On selected evenings, the ship also offers a casual buffet dinner on deck. Both of the dining rooms are non-smoking.
Maiden Voyage
The
made her maiden voyage as the Royal Majesty in the summer of 1992 from Southampton, England, to New York City. The ship was christened in New York City by performer Liza Minnelli.

Two people were killed and six injured aboard the Louis Majesty on June 24, 2009, when
while it was sailing in the Mediterranean Sea.
