LuAnn De Lesseps Talks New 'Housewives' After Casting Shake Up

LuAnn De Lesseps Talks New 'Housewives'

After breaking the news that three original members of "The Real Housewives of New York" cast, Jill Zarin, Alex McCord and Kelly Bensimon, have been let go from the series and will not be returning next season if all goes as planned, now we can reveal that Bravo has already replaced them.

“Well I can say that we were picked up and we're supposed to start shooting in October and apparently there are three or four that they are trading in and out,” renewed cast member LuAnn de Lesseps told "New York Live" host Jane Hanson and me this week.

Although de Lesseps would not reveal the identities of the new cast members, insiders tell me all three are fresh, bold and wealthy.

“They wanted to mix things up with fresh blood,” an insider tells me. “Add ladies to the cast that better represented New York -- aggressive, powerful, glamorous and very wealthy. Next season 'New York' will have the glamour of the 'Sex and the City' movies rather than the twitter wars and bickering.”

LuAnn also commented on how sad she was that cast member of the Beverly Hills "Housewives" franchise, Taylor Armstrong, was selling shocking images of herself battered and bruised.

“Its horrible. You know it’s unfortunate that she’s reduced to having to see these pictures because she was left in a bad situation obviously,” de Lesseps said. “I can’t imagine why anyone would want to reveal these photos unless, you know, you really needed to make the money. I just think it’s really unfortunate that she’s reduced to have to go there.”
