Get your chopsticks ready!
This Saturday, you can head to Culver City to dine and drink at the LUCKYRICE Festival. Inspired by Asian night markets, the ticketed event will feature food and drinks created by 16 celeb chefs and 8 boss bartenders from LA and elsewhere.
Sang Yoon (of Lukshon and Father's Office) will be serving up pork confit lettuce cups with black bean ghee, slaw, kimchi vinaigrette, and pig ear, while Susan Feniger (of STREET) will offer tatsuta-aged fried chicken with yuzu kosho sauce and pickled vegetables. You can wet your whistle with drinks like Joseph Brooke's (of Mixology 101) "Cherry Blossom Bagpipes": Dewars Scotch Whiskey, Soho lychee liqueur, lemon juice, honey syrup, cold-brewed green tea, and rose water.
While this is the LUCKYRICE Festival's first go in LA, it is in its third year in New York, and recently sold out of tickets for its Las Vegas debut, reports the LA Times.
Angelenos hankering for a taste can buy general admission tickets for $50 (plus tax and fees), or VIP tickets for $88 (plus tax and fees). The general admission ticket will get you into the event at 7:30, while VIPs can enter at 7:00. Tickets cover all food and drink tastings, but you must be over 21 years old.
The event organizers also invited Lisa Ling, James Murphy, and Christina Topsoe to be special guests. KCRW's Dan Wilcox will provide tunes.
It all goes down at the East Asian Design Warehouse at H.D. Buttercup, Helms Bakery Building, 3225 Helms Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90034.
