Luis Gutierrez Defeats Hector Concepcion In Illinois House Race

Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) was re-elected to Congress in Illinois' 4th congressional district on Tuesday, defeating Republican Hector Concepcion.

Gutierrez, who was first elected to Congress in 1992, defeated two challengers in the Democratic primary.

Gutierrez has expressed disappointment with President Barack Obama's immigration policies. He has said that Obama "played it safe" on immigration by choosing to delay executive action on immigration until after the midterm elections.
