On a busy evening in the Premier League, Luis Suarez was involved in scoring more goals (5) for Liverpool than all but one other match managed to produce in its entirety. In a relentless and masterful performance at Anfield, the Uruguayan striker scored four goals and assisted a fifth in his team's 5-1 romp over Norwich City. The only other fixture to produce more than five goals in total was Chelsea's 4-3 triumph over Sunderland.
The 26-year-old opened his first-half hat trick in the 15th minute with a sensational volley from 40 yards that rendered Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy absolutely helpless.

Photographer John Powell managed to capture Suarez's celebration and Ruddy's exasperation in one arresting image. Ruddy's teammates and their supporters can likely relate to this feeling as Suarez now has three hat tricks against Norwich.
After his golazo broke the scoreless tie, Suarez would score again in the 29th, 34th, and 79th minutes. He would then help establish the final 5-1 scoreline by assisting on Raheem Sterling's goal in the 88th minute. The scoring binge comes not long after Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers told reporters that his side can't just rely on Suarez while strike partner Daniel Sturridge is sidelined by injury.
“With Daniel out, other players who have been working hard will get an opportunity," Rogers said ahead of the midweek match, via the Liverpool Echo. "We now have to find a different way to win games. We can’t just rely on one player for goals. It’s the responsibility of everyone."
It would seem that nobody informed Suarez of this strategy.
Below are videos of the three other goals scored by Suarez on the night. Each is impressive in its own right but seems rather pedestrian when compared to his opening stunner.
