Lynx Study Places Trackers On Snowmachiners, But Can't Fund Any Lynx

VAIL PASS - Federal biologists investigating how people mix with threatened lynx wildcats in the wilderness have persuaded hundreds of Colorado backcountry snowmobilers and skiers to let scientists track their every move.

Snowmobilers and skiers are asked to carry Global Positioning System transmitters while moving around the 55,000-acre Vail Pass Winter Recreation Area in White River National Forest.
