MacKenzie-Childs Farmhouse In The Finger Lakes Is As Whimsical As The Couple's Well-Known Decor (PHOTOS)

This property has serious design cred and can be yours for the right price.

It's easy to spot the whimsical designs by MacKenzie-Childs. So when our friends at ASPIRE Metro shared this unusual, yet truly stunning home that's owned by the artist couple who started the company, we were happy to see it has a similar eccentric look.

Richard and Victoria MacKenzie-Childs began restoring this 1790 seven-bedroom four and a half bathroom estate set on Cayuga Lake, of the Finger Lakes in 1980. Once a Seckel pear farm, this 43-acre property includes a studio, carriage house, and retail shop. But the most interesting features of the home are definitely the same hallmarks as the couple's well-known ceramics -- bold, busy patterns, black and white checkerboard motifs and lots of color.

The home is now for sale for a recently reduced price of $975,000. The lucky new owner will get an unexpected perk -- the opportunity to dine with the MacKenzie-Childs on their house boat (the Yankee, a former Ellis Island ferry) docked in Hoboken, NJ. This unusual property, which the couple designed in their notable style as well, can also be yours for $1.25 million.
