'Mad Men' Spinoff: Matthew Weiner Says It Won't Happen

Will A 'Mad Men' Spinoff Happen?

"There's no chance," Weiner told The Hollywood Reporter. "No judgment against anybody else -- but this is it. This is the story. When it's done, it's done."

The "anybody else" he may be referring to is "Breaking Bad," which also had its final season split over two years. AMC and Sony announced a prequel series centering on Walter White's (Bryan Cranston) lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) last week.

As for how he feels about "Mad Men" being split into two parts, Weiner doesn't seem overly enthusiastic.

"It's a strategy from the network and I was told about it," he said, according to THR. "I found a way to work with it. That's all I can say. I think it's an opportunity."
