Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright congratulated Jen Welter on becoming the first female NFL coach in a tweet on Wednesday.
Albright, the first female to serve as U.S. Secretary of State, pointed out her common bond with Welter:
I don't know much about football, but I do know what it's like to be first. Congrats to @jwelter47 & the @AZCardinals. I'm rooting for you!
— Madeleine Albright (@madeleine) July 29, 2015
On Tuesday, it was announced Welter will intern with the Arizona Cardinals' coaching staff during the team's training camp and preseason.
