The search for a young girl who disappeared six years ago is heating up.

On Wednesday, news reports surfaced that Authorities plan to release a composite image of a man suspected in the case of 3-year-old Madeleine McCann, who vanished from a Portuguese resort in 2007.

The Telegraph reports that the image shows a "person of interest," in the case. Metropolitan Police said they don't know the man's identity.

Sky News reports that police are expected to give details about the suspect's movements in and around the resort on the day McCann went missing.

Last Friday, the Associated Press reported that police are combing through a huge trove of phone records from tourists and residents who were in the Praia da Luz resort on or around May 3, 2007.

The photo's release is expected to garner worldwide attention and authorities will likely receive thousands of tips as a result, Former Metropolitan Police detective Peter Kirkham told Sky News.
