During her recent MDNA tour, Madonna had some harsh words for former protege Lady Gaga. Madonna even made a dig at the similarity between Gaga's monster hit “Born This Way” and her 1989 song “Express Yourself.”

However, Madonna now reveals she reached out the olive branch to Gaga, who didn't accept it.

"I have the best fans in the whole world. So take that, Lady Gaga!” Madonna told the crowd at her concert in St. Paul, Minn., before revealing that she had reached out to Gaga. “You know, I invited her onstage to sing with me. But, she turned me down. It's okay. I've been rejected before. It builds a little character."

Gaga's rep didn't respond when The Huffington Post reached out for comment.

Madonna wraps up her North American tour on Nov. 20 in Miami before heading to South America.
