In 1991, "Madonna: Truth or Dare" -- a behind-the-scenes peek at the singer's "Blond Ambition Tour" -- became the highest-grossing documentary of all time. Since then, it has spawned a battery of copycat films centered on the likes of Katy Perry, One Direction, Justin Bieber and Beyoncé, among others. None was as heralded as "Truth or Dare" -- yet today, Madonna says she can't even watch her own movie.
“I’ve seen bits and pieces from it,” she told Andy Cohen in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, where she's interviewed ahead of her "Rebel Heart Tour," which launches next month. “I sort of gag when I watch it, 'cause I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t.’ It’s hard to watch myself do anything. I can’t even stand to watch myself in concert, like my last tour.”
Madonna said she's "afraid to watch" the movie because she feels she'll come off as a "horrible brat." She makes no mention of how awkward it must be to watch yourself simulate masturbation on a red satin bed while crooning a Middle-eastern inspired version of "Like a Virgin."
"I think I could possibly revisit it right now," Madonna conceded. Cohen asked her to call him when she does. "Let's watch it together," she responded.
