Madonna's 'I Don't Give A': Singer Slams Ex Guy Ritchie In New Track Teased Online

Madonna's Vengeful New Song Targets Guy Ritchie

Madonna has never wasted much energy worrying about what people may think of her, and her new track, "I Don't Give A," makes it clear that she's not going to start now.

The song, which was previewed late last week at a listening party for her new album, MDNA, appears to contain quite the fighting words. Madonna, who separated from Guy Ritchie in 2008, had to have known these lyrics would remind the public of her high-profile split:

"I tried to be a good girl

I tried to be your wife

Diminished myself

And I swallowed my light

I tried to become all

That you expect of me

And if it was a failure

I don’t give a [bleep]."

Though the lyrics have yet to be confirmed, multiple news sources corroborated that the song seemed to call out Ritchie. "I Don't Give A" wasn't the only song that seemed to be about Ritchie; the song "Bang Bang" reportedly includes the lines "Bang bang, shot you dead / shot my lover in the head / now my lover is dead / and I have no regrets," followed by more similarly vitriolic lyrics.

We're a bit confused, to be honest. Madge seems like someone in control of her life, skipping around Super Bowl stages as a sort of Godmother to modern pop music, so why lash out at someone you divorced nearly four years ago? (Especially given the rumors that she's entertaining a proposal from her 24-year-old boyfriend).

Regardless, she has certainly made quite the comeback. After a few years of relative obscurity -- a period dominated by Lady Gaga, no matter how "reductive" Madge may find her -- she's bounced back with a triumphant Super Bowl performance, fresh legal troubles and fiesty pop-girl collaborations with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.

Just last week, the singer released "Girls Gone Wild," a song she hopes sounds unlike anything else on the radio. MDNA features production by French house stalwart Martin Solveig and William Orbit.
