"Downton Abbey" star Maggie Smith -- who plays The Dowager Countess -- has a shocking confession: She's never seen the Masterpiece series.

When asked in a not-yet-aired "60 Minutes" interview about whether she was proud of her work on "Downton," Smith took a moment to respond.

"Well, yes, of course I am," she said. "I was just pausing because I haven't actually seen it. I don't sit down and watch it ... I've never watched it."

Smith may not be a die-hard fan of the critically-acclaimed series, but her co-stars love working with her.

"I remember my very first scene with her in Season 1," Hugh Bonneville, who plays Lord Grantham, said. "She's complaining about the new electric lights, and suddenly she put her fan up to her face to shield herself from 'the glare,' and spent the entire scene like that. It was so funny, and I was just, 'All right! There's no point in my even being here. She's just marched off with the scene!'"
