'Major Crimes': Raydor And Provenza Finally Have It Out, Provenza Packs Up To Quit (VIDEO)

'Major Crimes': Provenza Is Ready To Quit Over Raydor Leadership

Last week's series premiere of "Major Crimes" (Mon., 9 p.m. ET on TNT) rode the wave of the series finale of its parent series, "The Closer," to huge ratings. Its 7.2 million viewers established it as the highest-rated cable premiere of the year. But how many of the viewers will stick around to watch the team under the care of Mary McDonnell's Captain Raydor?

Provenza was ready to be done after only two episodes, declaring in this week's episode that he was going to quit. He went so far as to pack his bags. He didn't like how the team was now coordinating plea bargains, encouraging criminals to confess to lesser crimes in order to do a shorter amount of jail time quickly, without the benefit of a pure trial jury.

But the process is still by the books and saves the city a ton of money, so it will stand for now. But is plea bargaining as compelling as watching Brenda close a case by pulling a confession out of a suspect? Time will tell, as "Major Crimes" finds its ratings level over the next few weeks.

As for Provenza, Raydor encouraged him to stick around and he'll probably do that. Stick around with him and watch "Major Crimes" every Monday at 9 p.m. ET on TNT.
