Make A Fire Smell Even Better With An Orange Peel

Oddly enough, it involves an orange.

Today marks the first day of winter, and that means for the next couple of months, the temperature will be dropping. As you get ready to turn up the heat using your home's fireplace, you may find yourself going through an obscene amount of newspaper as kindle. But Reader’s Digest found a much better alternative to make a fire.

The magazine suggests using dried orange and lemon peels as kindle to not only have a sweeter aroma in your home but to also help your fire last longer.

We love finding new uses for things that would normally be considered garbage. Plus, we appreciate the fact that citrus fruits will give our a nice smell all winter long.
