I am always on the hunt for cheaper products that are comparable to their more expensive versions. There is just something so satisfying from getting the same $65 look from a foundation for only $15. That being said, I have found products out there that are definitely on the pricier side but really do live up to the hype. I have searched far and wide and have not yet been able to find a double for these items. These products are worth looking into If you are in the market for some high end products that will be worth your money. Now without any further ado here is a list of a few of my beauty must haves that are definitely worth the splurge.
NARS Blush, Orgasm 0.16 oz. $30
This blush will give your face a glowy ethereal look that you will not be able to duplicate with another blush. A little goes a long way with this color. It is highly pigmented and extremely blendable. If you have a little extra change and are looking to treat yourself, this blush is worth every penny.
If you are looking for something a little extra to make your eyeshadow pop then stila's foil eyeshadow in Kitten is exactly what you are looking for. It provides a shimmer that I haven't found duplicated in any other paint pot.
bobbi brown long-wear gel eyeliner black ink $19
This is perfect if you are looking for that liquid liner look without the difficulty of liquid liner application. The color is an intense black that glides on smoothly and dries looking just like a liquid. Some gel liners tend to get flakey or dry out quickly in the pot causing you to prematurely toss it out. This long wear liner keeps its consistency overtime and is just as easy to apply out of the jar two or three months after purchasing.
HOURGLASS Ambient Lighting Palette: Dim light -Incandescent Light -Radiant Light $69
I firmly believe this is a magical powder with magical powers. It blurs and defuses many of the issues you might be having on your skin. The three colors offer you different options for multiple areas of your face. It is an effortless and well-blended powder that works great with all skin tones. I recommend this pallet to all my clients.
Smash Box Photo Finish Foundation Primer Oil Free 30ml/1oz $29
Hands down this is my favorite face primer. It glides on smoothly while minimizing pores. This primer perfectly preps the skin to allow for the smoothest application of your foundation. I have found products that come close but still seem to fall short of the quality of this product.
MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Extravagant Mascara Black 0.23 oz $36
This mascara glides on smoothly without any clumps or hassle. It thickens and elongates while still keeping all your lashes separated. I stumbled upon this product a few years ago when it was given to me as a gift. I'm not sure if it's the wand design or the actual consistency of the mascara itself that makes it so wonderful but whatever it is I believe it is the best mascara I have tried on the market.
Yves Saint Laurent Top Secrets All-In-One BB Cream Skintone Perfector SPF 25 PA++ Medium 40ml/1.3oz $53
BB cream is great for people who aren't about all the fuss of makeup application. It is a primer, a foundation, and an SPF all in one. I was never big on BB cream until I tried this and I fell in love. It provides great coverage yet is super light on the skin. The product is perfect for summer.
Beauty Blender Original Blender Sponge - 0.15 oz $16
The Beauty Blender is a tiny reusable makeup sponge that allows for even and effortless foundation application, and it is AH-MAZING. It leaves you with similar effects to that of airbrushing and will never leave streaks in your skin the way a brush can. It is fast, effective, easy to clean, and does not soak up all your product like other sponges can. This little gadget has BIG powers. This is another product I recommend to anyone and everyone.
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, Dragon Girl $24
If you love a classic red lip this is the product for you. Finding a perfect red is always a challenge. Usually, I find the colors to be too orangey or too maroon. This color is the perfect combination of both. Red Dragon is highly pigmented with long lasting staying power that doesn't dry out your lips. This pencil alone has upped my red lip game into a new level.
