Lil Wayne has found one less fan in New York State Senator Malcolm Smith this week. The politician said he was "shocked" by the rapper's distaste for New York City.
But Smith, a Democrat who is considering a run for mayor in 2013-- as a Republican-- isn't taking issue with Lil Wayne's more explicit, profanity-laced disses.
Instead, he's upset over Wayne's tame "I don't like New York" comment during an MTV appearance on Monday:

Lil Wayne's last long stay in the New York City, of course, wasn't a pleasant one. The rapper spent 8 months behind bars on Rikers Island on gun charges, so it seems understandable that he isn't too enamored with the Big Apple.
Regardless, The Observer reports the Senator Smith felt the need for a press conference in Times Square on Wednesday, where he called on Lil Wayne to issue an apology and apparently taking upon himself to "speak for the 50 million tourists" who visit the city:
Very simple, if you don’t like New York, you don’t have to come to New York, you don’t have to sell your products here and, perhaps, we won’t come to your concerts. I can tell you as someone who’s raised my family here, I’ve taken strong exception to the words, ‘I don’t like New York.’ I love this city. I was born and raised in this city...New Yorkers are forgiving people. We’re prepared to forgive Lil’ Wayne if, in fact, he makes a sincere apology.
Smith also suggested Nicki Minaj step in and tell Weezy he's made a mistake.
