Now that President Barack Obama has won four more years in office , we can also celebrate a fresh new term of sensational style from The First Lady Michelle Obama and the First Daughters, Malia and Sasha.
Last night, The FLOTUS showed off her chic and confident sartorial prowess by stepping out in a shimmering magenta sheath dress by Michael Kors, which she has actually worn twice before. Some may see that as a political statement nodding to the tough economical times--but we'd like to think she simply loves a great dress and doesn't mind dipping into her closet full-of-fabulous over and over again.
But as amazing as Michelle looked, it was her adorable (are they too old for that word yet?) daughters that reminded us once again that there are two more fashion plates running around The White House.
Malia, 14-years-old, opted for a long-sleeved black blouse and a bold blue skirt (we've seen her rock this color before) that matched her father's tie. The high school freshman spiced it up a bit with a thin hot pink studded belt and green ballet flats. Younger sister, Sasha upped the style quotient even more in a green printed full skirt, bow blouse and funky multi-strand necklace.
And just like her mom, the 11-year-old paired her ensemble with a cardigan. However, this pint size fashionista displayed some seriously sophisticated styling skills by tucking the light grey cardigan into her skirt. Bravo!
Even The New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn, thought the girls stole the show. The sharp-penned journalist, who isn't known for doling out high praises, took to Twitter to applaud Malia and Sasha for their exceptional style moment.
The girls are clearly all grown up and have come a long way from their matchy-matchy outfits with mom back on Election Night in 2008. It's been fun watching the girls turn into fabulous young ladies and we're looking forward to another four years.
