Man Shot In Head By Girlfriend Resisted Treatment, 'Didn't Seem To Mind': Police

Man 'Didn't Seem To Mind' He'd Been Shot In Head: Sheriff

An Oklahoma couple's argument ended with a man being shot in the head.

Tuesday night, the unnamed victim was taken to the hospital by a neighbor after his girlfriend allegedly shot him in the head, according to KFOR. At the hospital, Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth said the man resisted treatment and tried striking the deputy to get away.

“He was very belligerent and combative,” Booth said. “He didn’t seem to mind he had a gunshot wound to the head.”

Booth said the victim didn't want a report about the shooting filed. After multiple escape attempts, the deputy eventually used a Taser on the victim and placed him in handcuffs in order to get him to stay.

“We didn’t have any choice but to restrain him to keep him from leaving the hospital with the type of injury he had,” Booth told the station. The officer said that no charges would be filed against the victim. His girlfriend was arrested the night of the shooting.

Arguments between couples can sometimes have deadly consequences.

An England woman was killed with a shotgun by her former-mayor husband, Keith Johnson, after she told him she was leaving him.

A San Antonio man, DeAndre Coleman, was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly unintentionally shooting his girlfriend during a fight with his ex-girlfriend. Police say the shot was actually meant for his ex girlfriend, but his current one got in the way.
