WATCH: Mandy Patinkin Gets Really Excited About Host's Baby News

"Homeland" star Mandy Patinkin was nominated for a Golden Globe Thursday, but it's hard to believe that might not have been the most exciting moment of this week. The day before, Patinkin was sitting down with "Good Day NY" when co-host Dave Pryce had to leave mid-interview after receiving an email that his wife was going into labor. Patinkin was so overcome with joy and excitement that his priceless reaction in the above clip is a must-watch.

"Oh my god! How thrilling! Mazel tov! Oh my god! That's so thrilling! Is this his first kid? Oh my god, that is the most exciting thing I've ever had happen," Patinkin exclaimed, as his voice reached a crescendo. "Oh my god! Oh how thrilling ... oh my god. To hell with me, let's cut away to the hospital. Oh, wow. That is thrilling.

"You'll promise you'll call me and tell me ... Does he know if it's a boy or a girl?" Patinkin continued. "Oh this is thrilling. Oh my god. Well I hope the viewers will tune in. Do you have something on your website that will keep people updated? ... Isn't this exciting? Oh, we're having a baby ... I'm overwhelmed. I've never had anything like that happen. Wow!" Later, Patinkin performed a musical number and ad-libbed some lyrics about the baby news. You can watch the entire segment here.
