Mango The Pomeranian Brings Oregon Freeway Traffic To A Halt

Traffic on the Interstate 84 in Portland, Oregon came to a screeching halt on Monday afternoon, but not because of rush hour or an accident. The reason? A little dog named Mango.

The three-year-old Pomeranian slipped out of her collar and took off running down the freeway, evading drivers who even got out of their cars to run and try to capture the dog, Fox12 Oregon reported.

"This dog will not stop running, he's gonna have a heart attack, there's about six of us just stopping traffic and trying to corral him," a 9-1-1 caller said, Fox12 Oregon reported.

Amazingly enough, Mango wasn't hurt by any oncoming traffic. She made her way up a ramp and to a nearby high school, where she was finally caught and reunited with her owner, Linda Dowdy, WFMY News reported.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story stated that Mango was finally stopped by Dan Dowdy, in accordance with certain local sources. However, it was actually Dowdy's wife Linda, the owner of the dog, who was finally able to capture the dog.
