An Arkansas mother is desperately seeking information on the location of her daughter, 23-year-old Maranda Goldman, whose car was found abandoned in a parking lot last week.

The circumstances of the case are suspicious, and Sandy Goldman said she is fearful for her daughter's safety.

"She had been in with a bad group of people," Goldman told The Huffington Post. "They thought she had turned as a snitch, so she was really scared for her life."

Maranda Goldman's family last heard from her at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, when she called to say she was putting in an application at a Goodwill store in Pine Bluff. The store is located about 45 minutes from the Goldman family home in Woodlawn.

It was after grabbing a bite to eat and running some errands, Sandy Goldman said, that her daughter wound up at the Goodwill store.

"She had called me and said they were taking applications," said the missing woman's mother. "She said something about going to a friend's house, getting cleaned up and going back up there to fill out an application."

Goldman said a cashier at the store later confirmed her daughter had purchased a belt and pair of pants, but said she never returned to complete the application. The young woman's car was in the parking lot when the employee left that evening and was in the same spot when she returned to work the following morning.

"She never did come home," Goldman said. "When my older daughter took me there [on Friday] the car was still there, but her purse and phone wasn't there."

There have been no sightings of Maranda Goldman since she walked out of the Goodwill store and her cellphone is turned off. The store had no video cameras outside, leaving the young woman's actions after leaving the store a mystery.

"I'm just at a loss," said Sandy Goldman. "This is not like my daughter. She always calls me no matter what happens -- good, bad, ugly -- it don't matter, she always calls."

The distraught mother said she is afraid her daughter might have gotten into a vehicle with someone she mistakenly thought she could trust.

"She don't meet a stranger," Goldman said. "Maybe she knew them, but just because you know someone, you might not actually know them."

Goldman said her daughter had recently "been in some trouble" and had moved home after a falling out with some friends in Pine Bluff, who suspected her of giving information to the police. Goldman did not provide any additional details on the issues her daughter had allegedly been dealing with.

"I just want to know if she is OK -- somehow, someway," Goldman said. "I love her."

A spokesperson with the Pine Bluff Police Department was unavailable for comment Monday afternoon.

Maranda Goldman is described as approximately 5 feet tall, with a slim build and light complexion. She has brown hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a light blue T-shirt and blue jean shorts.

Anyone with information about Goldman's whereabouts is asked to contact the Pine Bluff Police Department at (870) 730-2090.
