She's baaaaaack! "Today" took a little trip down memory lane on Friday, welcoming back Maria Shriver as a special co-host on the morning show for the first time since 1998.

Shriver is currently a "special anchor" for NBC News, but made her mark on the network anchoring the first Sunday broadcast of Weekend "Today" in 1987.

Both "Today" and Shriver took to Twitter to first get the news out:

"Today" called Friday's show Flashback Friday as they "dug deep into the archives" to look back at some of Shriver's most memorable moments.
