Mariah Carey has never been afraid to show off her singing pipes, but when the singer, 42, was at her peak pregnancy weight, she didn't want anyone to see her body: not even her husband.
As Mariah told People magazine yesterday:
"I had a towel on in the tub ... I’m not lying, I promise you! You think I would let [husband] Nick [Cannon] see me looking rancid like that?"
She also said that she prefers herself on the thin side:
"I had, like, no bones for a while," she says, gesturing to her collarbone. "It's important to me to feel my bones!"
Carey, who's the new face of the Jenny Craig weight loss program, gave birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe in April and also said yesterday that she's lost 30 pounds since the babies' arrival.
We were surprised to hear Mariah hating on her surely beautiful pregnant form, but she made similar comments in October on "20/20":
"I don't think I understood the enormity and the magnitude of what it really does to your body ... Carrying two babies? Unless somebody's been through it, it's difficult to understand that I went through."
Relax, Mariah! Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, and we think all bodies are beautiful. Your husband undoubtedly agrees.
