Marines Urinating Video: Pamela Geller, Anti-Muslim Blogger, Says 'I DO Love These Marines'

Blogger Praises Corpse-Urinating Soldiers

Pamela Geller, who has been referred to as the "queen of the Muslim bashers," is not doing anything to shed that title.

Geller, the executive director of the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) and Stop Islamization of America (SIOA), said she's enamored with the Marines seen in a recent video that allegedly shows them urinating on corpses of Taliban soldiers.

"I love these Marines," she wrote on her blog, Atlas Shrugs. "Perhaps this is the infidel interpretation of the Islamic ritual of washing and preparing the body for burial."

According to WDSU, Muslim tradition calls for, among other customs, the body of the deceased to be washed before burial.

Geller's comments come in the wake of the Council on American-Islamic Relations' (CAIR) condemnation of the video.

CAIR, in turn, issued a statement condemning Geller's remarks, calling her website a "hate blog."

In a follow up post on her blog later Thursday, Geller reiterated her message:

So let me be perfectly clear. I DO love those Marines. We are at war with an enemy that means to slaughter us and overthrow the United States of America. I don't CAIR that these Marines wee wee'ed on murderous savages.

In regard to the organization condemning the video, Geller wrote, "Hamas-tied CAIR, once again sides with jihadists against the US military."

Ibrahim Hooper, the Communications Director for CAIR, told HuffPost the allegation that the organization is tied to Hamas is untrue.

"That's a tactic of the extreme Islamaphobes," Hooper said. "It's a tactic of those who hate Islam and throw around those bizarre and idiotic labels."

CAIR and hundreds of Islamic organizations were named on a list of "unindicted co-conspirators" in a major terror financing trial against an Islamic U.S. charity, the Holy Land Foundation, in 2007. But CAIR and other groups were never charged with any wrongdoing and have denied any connections to terrorism.

In 2010, a judge said the list of unindicted co-conspirators should have never been released and violated the due process clause of the Fifth Amendment.

CAIR is by no means the only group to condemn the video. In a statement, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta called the soldiers' behavior "utterly deplorable." He added, "I condemn it in the strongest possible terms."

Other high-ranking military officials also released statements condemning the video.

This is not the first time Geller, who has spoken recently at Tea Party events, has made incendiary comments about Muslims. In September of last year, the New York Metropolitan Transit Authority refused to post an advertisement she bought that called Muslims "savages." She was also a leading voice in the fight against Park51, the so-called "Ground Zero Mosque."

Quoting an anonymous officer in the United States Marine Corps, Reuters reported that the servicemen in the video are from the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines, and are based out of Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

CNN also reported Thursday afternoon that two of the Marines in the video have been identified.
