Mario Williams Wants Engagement Ring Back: Bills DE Suing Ex-Fiancee Over $785,000 Ring (VIDEO)

NFL Star Suing Ex-Fiancee Over Engagement Ring

When the Buffalo Bills announced the signing of defensive end Mario Williams at a press conference in March 2012, his fiancee Erin Marzouki was by his side. As Williams prepares for his second season in Buffalo, Marzouki is out of the picture and the next time he sees her may be in court.

The 28-year-old NFL star filed a lawsuit against his ex-fiancee in Harris County Court in Houston to recover a $785,000, 10-carat diamond engagement ring, according to NFL.com.

“[Marzouki] never intended to marry [Williams] and used the relationship as a means to get to [Williams’] money and acquire gifts,” said the lawsuit, via The Houston Chroncle.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, Williams played the first six seasons of his career with the Texans. After earning two Pro Bowl nods while in Houston, Williams signed a massive six-year free agent contract with the Bills worth potentially $100 million before the 2012 season.

Williams, who has one of the richest contracts in the NFL, also alleges in his lawsuit, according to The Buffalo News, that Marzouki agreed to return the ring if the wedding never took place. According to the Houston Chronicle, Williams claims that she “unilaterally terminated” the engagement on Jan. 21, 2013.
