WASHINGTON -- Marion Barry spent Saturday evening supporting the arts and local businesses, and explaining to certain parts of the internet what the word "mofo" means.

The sometimes salty-mouthed former D.C. mayor and current D.C. councilmember took in the Tony-nominated play "The Motherf**ker With The Hat" at The Studio Theatre before dancing and singing at Madam's Organ in Adams Morgan. We know this because of his Twitter account.

Barry tweeted that he enjoyed the production of "The MOFO With The Hat." One Twitter user did not enjoy Barry's use of the word mofo. Over the course of three hours Barry educated Twitter on real words and fake words, and how to make and take jokes.

While this exchange was taking place online, back in Adams Morgan Barry was busy buying drinks for strangers and taking the stage to sing the blues.

This isn't the first time Barry's Twitter feed caught our attention. We also enjoyed following him during the Redskins playoff run.

If following the politician on social media won't satisfy your Barry craving, you can buy his old Hillcrest house.
